Sudden desire for the
Southern Sky and better Weather
The weather in May in Austria was from any point of view not very friendly.
Except a few hours, which we could use for comet watching, it was cloudy
and rainy. On Saturday the 22nd it was to much! My wife Francis and i went
to the airport to see the offerings for last minute vacations to countries
were better weather should be. There was one "Last minute" offer
for KENYA for 2 weeks for more or less "nothing". The point was to
fly the next day and its rainy season these days. No problem at all, the telescope and EQ-5 travelmount were
disassembled and packed in a few minutes, Francis took care about the other
things you need when you goto the equator. And 24 hour later we were in the
air on route to Watamu-Beach south of Malindi in Kenya. Believe it or not, the
weather was completely different from the Austrian weather! Sunshine, no
clouds, very warm and blue sea.
